On June 4 and 5, the Jornada no Bosque Museum Program carries out a special program at Parque das Dunas, in Natal. It is the Jornada em Movement in Environment Week, with playful and educational actions, cycling tour and exhibitions.
One of the proposed activities is the Giant Map of Natal. During the action, which takes place throughout the weekend, people will be able to walk on the map, recognizing and finding places in the city seen from above, in an imaginary and playful experience. In this edition, the Jornada team together with other partner institutions will invite the public to think and reflect on the theme of mobility and accessibility in the city of Natal.
The exhibition “Photo Journey Contest: Nature alive in you”, will be on display throughout the weekend with the 10 winning photos. The contest was held in partnership with IDEMA and presents images of nature and photo performance recorded in conservation units throughout the state.
The two days of programming also include the exhibition and commercialization of ceramics from the crockery makers in the community of Sobrado, in Monte Alegre/RN. The partnership between Casadágua Institute, producer of Jornada no Bosque, and the Crockery Makers aims to boost the community’s impact business. On Saturday, the 4th, at 2:00 pm, the Master Tinha teaches a free ceramics workshop, open to the public.
On the same day, at 5 pm, the sculpture Casa Mãe Terra receives the mapped projection “Regeneration”, which tells a story of culture, health, and nature. Maurício Panella signs the script of the work and art direction. Will Monteiro makes the animation, effects, and modeling video mapping. DJ Tinoco signs the soundtrack. The projection was created last year and will have its first exhibition open to the public.
To close the program, on Sunday, the 5th, the Bike Journey + Cycle Natal Day takes place, with a cycling tour from Parque das Dunas to Arena das Dunas stadium. The concentration starts at 2 pm, in front of Bosque dos Namorados, without the need for registration. At Arena das Dunas, a concert with the band Skarimbó is scheduled to take place at 4 pm. Then the participants return to the starting point.
“During the cycling tour we want to make the population experience in practice what it is to move actively around the city. Let’s rethink our mobility in order to minimize greenhouse gases, slow down the speed in the city and promote accessibility for everyone,” explains Maurício Panella, creator of Jornada no Bosque.
